1. About the site
Batchef is a personal brand and entertainment website with comics, recipes, articles (the Grease Gazette), a browser game and a community. In these terms, "Batchef", "we" and "us" mean the creator and operator of batchef.com, and "you" means anyone using the site.
2. Using the site
- You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Do not misuse the site: no hacking, scraping at a harmful rate, spreading malware, cheating the leaderboard by tampering with the game or network requests, spamming forms, or trying to access data that is not yours.
- We may change, pause or remove any part of the site at any time without notice.
3. Our content and intellectual property
The Batchef name, character, logo, comics, artwork, recipes, articles, game and site design are owned by us or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. All rights reserved. You may share links to the site and quote short extracts with credit and a link back. You may not copy, sell, reproduce or build on our content or character for commercial purposes, or use the Batchef name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written permission.
4. Your content and submissions
If you send us a message, scoop, comment or any other content ("Your Content"), you confirm that you own it or have the right to share it, and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. You keep ownership of Your Content. You give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, display, edit for length or clarity, and publish it on batchef.com and our social channels, credited to the name you gave us. For comments you can ask us to remove them at any time.
We may refuse or remove content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, misleading, spam or off-topic, and we may close accounts that break these terms. Approved Gazette scoops are published at our discretion; sending one does not guarantee publication or payment.
5. Accounts and the leaderboard
If member accounts are available, keep your login details safe and use a display name that is not offensive or misleading. You are responsible for activity on your account. Scores and display names on the shared leaderboard are public. We may remove scores that look cheated and may reset the leaderboard. The game is for fun: there are no prizes unless we announce them separately with their own rules.
6. Recipes, food and health disclaimer
Recipes, cooking tips, fitness and diet articles are shared for general information and entertainment. They are not medical, nutritional or professional advice. Check ingredients for allergens and your own dietary needs, follow safe food-handling and cooking practices (especially for meat, seafood, eggs, hot oil and sharp tools), and speak to a qualified professional before changing your diet or exercise routine. Cooking times, quantities and nutrition notes are approximate. You use the recipes at your own risk.
7. Third-party links and services
The site may link to or use third-party services (for example social networks, analytics and hosting). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or policies.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or that the site will be error-free, secure or uninterrupted. Comics, characters and stories are fiction and any resemblance to real people is coincidental.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Batchef will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to cover us against claims and costs arising from Your Content or your breach of these terms, to the extent allowed by law.

12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the UAE have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise.
